The Cine RT System
The Cine RT System is one of the most popular distance reference tools available to professional focus pullers, and the best ultrasonic cinema rangefinder & transmitter tracking system in its class.

OV.1 Video Overlay Unit Coming Soon to a Focus Monitor Near You
Designed by camera assistants
Widely recognized for its operational flexibility and exceptional performance, the Cine RT satisfies a broad range of working methods on film and digital cameras.
Purpose built components
Our components are constructed from pro-grade materials and electronics rated to work within industrial operating temperature range - built to withstand a life on set.
Expansive toolset
The innovative distribution of ultrasonic transducers across the custom-built wireless component family enables an expansive toolset unique to the Cine RT.
LCS Integrations
Custom-designed and third-party serial protocol outputs deliver fast distance data to lens control systems by ARRI, Preston, c motion, Teradek, and Heden.

The System Package
The component family enables multiple working modes to display real-time subject measurements and facilitate the collection of focus marks.

Ultrasonic Base Sensor
The lightweight, low-profile ULTRASONIC BASE SENSOR is the computational center of the Cine RT System and the only system component required on the camera, making it ideal for all camera builds.

Handset Control Unit
The HANDSET CONTROL UNIT is both a remote command centre and a handheld tape measure. It contains a pressure-sensitive touchscreen to access system-wide operational settings and display multiple distance readout modes.

Multiple
Use multiple displays

High-Bright LED Display
The compact HIGH-BRIGHT LED DISPLAY receives data remotely from the BASE and relays distance information with ultra-bright LED numbers.

Ultrasonic Bug Transmitter
The miniature ULTRASONIC BUG TRANSMITTER is milled from rugged ABS, weighs virtually nothing and can be easily hidden under most fabrics.

Add accessories and customize the system to your individual specifications and LCS.

LCS Integration
The Cine RT System’s utility goes even further by connecting to all popular lens control systems. Custom or native serial protocols deliver fast distance data to products by ARRI, c motion, Preston, Teradek and Heden. In 2022 Focusbug’s partnership with ARRI advanced the integration to include the Focusbug License for bi-directional operational compatibility with the Hi-5 focus handset.
The Focusbug Community
The Focusbug Cine RT System was introduced in 2017 and, with over 1800 units in the field, has become an industry standard. The system has been used on a wide range of productions, from music videos and documentaries to large-scale award-winning films like Dune, Napoleon and Oppenheimer. We thank our user base for their support and ongoing dialogue, which inspires us to continue to evolve the Cine RT to further complement the toolkit of any 1st AC. We are proud of our users and love to feature their posts and stories.

It has been wet and damp. Today being indoors makes our lenses and glass foggy. Nothing beats kate_lbarrett and her handy on set hairdryer😅

Ahoy and welcome to day 3 of niki.winer ‘s favourite builds! Today we’re talking sea.
I am super lucky to have been on some incredible jobs offering a huge variation of working in and around water. From big beefy hydroflex builds in the dive tank to figuring out how to get my dropped slate out of a whirlpool there is so much creativity involved in these types of builds. There are many ways to achieve beautiful water shots, full underwater housing, splash bags, and the mighty plastic bag have taken me to some amazing places.
📸 1: My uniform for the day on Bust Up shooting the tide rushing in the Te Henga sea caves with DOP chegone
📷 2: Cruising around the bay of islands with ayedeepee ‘s jib on a coast guard boat. Had to be such a solid build to keep up with their speed!
📸 3: richard.surrey and keifer_moana on the pontoon! (I won’t name it but) coraaaaaaay had so many insane builds on this show.
📷 4: This remote wet head was built by my brilliant father in law brian66harris in 2020. Internally pressurised and can dive to up to 20m.
📸 5: But you don’t always have to have a flash rig to get the shot! Here’s something thrown together on Thunderbirds.
📷 6: Hot tips for water slates: if you’re using a dummy board a bit of Velcro on the face and some plastic numbers and letters will save you from a world of pain. If you’re using a time code slate I’ve had great success removing the top stick to keep the TC rolling and fitting it in a clear map bag to keep it safe.
📸 7: Never let your guard down on the west coast! I’ll never forget this random rouge wave almost washing us out on The Wilds.
📷 8: daveyhammond and ayedeepee copiloting the Venice
📸 9: pretty.bleak circa 2017
📷 10: ayedeepee keeping an eye on the tide!

Hello again! niki.winer here continuing my week of favourite builds.
Todays’s theme: Land!
We are blessed here in Aotearoa with so many beautiful landscapes and I count myself lucky to have been to many places I would have never visited otherwise. Working remote has its challenges though! Especially on large scale dramas where you are responsible for carrying and caring for a 10T truck full of delicate and irreplaceable equipment. I reckon getting your truck safely on the other side of the cook straight is a Kiwi AC`s right of passage.
For today’s photos I’ve picked some of my favourite tracking vehicle builds! You can do so much with a side mount and a couple of suction cups but I have just always loved a tracking vehicle, even (especially) when I’m shoved in the boot and the stunt driver is screaming down the narrow streets of the CBD.
Getting to work in fully customised vehicles is such a treat but it’s not always the best way to get around our islands. Over the years I have so enjoyed watching what our amazing key grips dream up. Mounting spring arms or jibs to ATV’s, dirt bikes, utes, you name it I reckon we`ve put a camera on it. Go the boys!
📷 1: 👋 Te Henga on an exitfilms TVC
📸 2: nzcameracars sick moto crane for Sweet Tooth S2 gripsolutions
📷 3: filmtec `s beautiful U-Crane down south for Klara and The Sun
📸 4: sammythacat finishing off the build on Klara - always do your safety checks kids!
📷 5: paulmurphyfilms swinging the bucket of a GF8 rigged on a polaris and Mike doing something incredibly important I`m sure.
📸 6: mysterious_utility driving a black arm through the forrest to get some amazing running shots on The Wilds
📷 7: Me and Dan Williams hooning around Welly on a ranger with a heavy weight spring arm ronin rig.
📸 8: ulricraymond looking epic balancing the trinity on top of a cliff
📷 9: A funny glimpse into daily life of a traveling circus. On Rings of power we filmed in some of the most remote places I have ever been to. What do you do when you need an army to film something so massive? Build a village in the middle of nowhere!
📸 10: Te Henga again serving as a stunning backdrop on The Luminaries
